Highlights of my Summer So Far....
I've been having a pretty awesome summer. About two weeks ago my aunt, who lives near to us, took me with her to Seattle! I stayed with my grandma for most of the week, and my Uncle drove me back a week later.
The Monday after I arrived, I got to surprise a very good friend of mine! We hadn't seen each other since before I moved, which was July 2nd, 2012. So I stayed with her for a few days, and got to see many other close friends.
While I was in Seattle, I also got to do a lot of fun stuff with my family: I went to one of my cousins graduation party, where I got to see a lot of my extended family. The next day my Grandma and Uncle took me and two of my cousins to this place called Bullwinkle's Family Fun Center, where we had a blast going on the fun rides they had.
I was also able to go see my cousin's dress rehearsal for dance, which was fun!
I also had a great time hanging out with my Grandma. We cut up a huge amount of strawberries and raspberries to freeze for canning later, and we baked, etc. It was so much fun and I hope that I can come back soon!
I've also had the pleasure of participating as a crew leader at the VBS at one parish that we attend, and also helping out at Camp Tek (for St. Kateri Tekakwitha. Look her up!) at the other parish we go to. Honestly, I like the latter camp better for several reasons. A few of them are : 1. Part of the camp is attending daily Mass in the mornings. 2. They have a talent show!
The talent show was really fun! A small group of friends and I sang Edelweiss from the Sound of Music, which happened to be the theme of the camp this year. Singing with them really made me miss choir. Our choir is on hiatus right now, though our director did mention that we might resume in July or August.... We'll just have to see what happens!
I really love singing in choir. We have the best director. We are so lucky to have her! The songs that we sing are beautiful: Ave Maria (We sing this in a way that I have never heard before. It is amazing!), Laudate Pueri, Ave Verum, etc. I sing first soprano, which is the highest girl voice type, and I must say, the first soprano part is gorgeous!
Ok, those are the major highlights of my summer. I hope all of you are having a good summer as well!!
TTFN!
