And Here We Go Again....

Well, we're moving. Again.

For those of you who don't know, my family and I moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho from Seattle, Washington a little over a year ago. Well, our landlord wants to sell the house we are renting, so guess what? We get to move again.

What's funny is that the other day I was telling my mom that I miss that 'Just moved in' feeling. I didn't really want to move again, but hey! At least I'll get that feeling again! :)

I'll still try to post as often as I can, but I'm guessing that my life is going to be a bit busy from here on out. Besides moving, I'm getting ready to start High School. Since my mom has to start working, my siblings and I will be going to public schools. My youngest brother has been doing public school since pre-school, because of his Autism, but the rest of us have been homeschooled all our lives.

So basically we are moving right before school starts. That'll be fun...... This will be the 5th time we've moved in the past 6-7 years.

Too sum that all up, I might not have as much time to blog in the next few months. But I will try. Thank goodness for scheduled posts!! ;)

How Do You Imagine Me? ANSWERS!

A few days ago I posted this questionnaire to see what you guys thought I look like. Well, here are the answers!

How Do You Imagine Me: 1.) Hair : Blonde, dark blonde, red, auburn, brown, light brown, dark brown, black, or dyed? Answer: Dark/Dirty Blonde
  2.) Nails: Do I wear nail polish or not? Answer: I don't usually wear nail polish. I like it, I just never get around to putting it on!
 3.) Height: Tall, medium, or short in height? Answer: I wish I could say that I was tall, or even medium... But I'm just plain short! I'm 14 and my height is 4'11...
  4.) Figure: chubby or skinny? Answer: I'm on the skinnier side.
 5.) Eyes: Do I have blue, green, brown, hazel, or *insert color I may have forgotten* eyes? Answer: Blue.
 6.) Feet: Do I wear socks, or go barefoot? Answer: In the summer, barefoot!
 7.) Jewelry: Do you think I wear Jewelry? If so, is it simple or extravagant? Answer: I don't wear jewelry much, but when I do, simple.
  8.) Do you think I have : short hair (chin length or above), medium length (around shoulder length or a smidge shorter/longer), or long hair (mid-back)? Answer: I'd say my hair is medium-long.
 9.) Skin: Do you picture me pale, tan, or dark skinned? Answer: I'm naturally pale, but in the summer I get tan.
  10.) Do you think I am outgoing or shy? Answer: Shy.
  11.) Beauty: make-up, or no make-up? Answer: Usually no make up, but I do like to wear lip gloss when I remember! :)
  12.) Face: glasses or no glasses? If glasses, what color? Answer: Glasses. In fact, I just picked out a new frame today. My current glasses are a kind of a tan, and my new ones will be brown.
  14.) Do I have lots of friends or do I mostly hang out with books? Answer: Books! Yes, I do hang out with friends, too, but often you'll find me sitting in my bedroom reading!
  15.) Do I have straight, wavy, or curly hair, or in between? Answer: It depends. Sometimes it's more on the straight side, and sometimes it's wavy.

And now, I'm going to be brave and post a picture:

The Face behind the blog! :)

Let me tell you, it is so hard to take a decent picture of yourself. I just never feel natural. Even with someone else doing the taking...It's probably best to catch me unaware. So I just have to trick myself into taking a picture of myself. And that never works....

So there ya go. Enjoy.

Psalm 23

Psalm 23 is one of my favorite verses in the Bible. It never fails to calm me down or comfort me. Lately I've been reading it right before I go to bed. For those of you who haven't heard it, and for those of you that have, here it is:

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside still waters;
He restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths
for his name's sake.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
I fear no evil;
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff--
They comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint me with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
my whole life long.

Do you have a favorite verse in the Bible? What is it?

Who's on My Playlist: Kellie Pickler

Ok, who here has heard of Kellie Pickler? You may know her from her time on American Idol. Maybe you heard her music and got hooked. Or you may have seen her tackle (and win!!) Dancing with the Stars. Or this could be the first time you've ever heard of her. No matter.

Kellie Pickler

I'm not sure where I first heard her music, but I do know that I absolutely love it! She is an extremely talented artist, and a wonderful person. One thing that I really admire her for is that she shaved her head in honor of her best friend who has breast cancer.

Kellie P. soon after she shaved her head.

If you have not heard her music before, and even if you have, I'm going to include a few of her songs for you to listen too.
 I Wonder
Kellie Pickler's mom abandoned her when she was about two, and that's what the song is talking about.
Don't You Know You're Beautiful?

I love the message that this son sends to girls! Everyone really is beautiful!

Well, there you go. If you want to know more about Kellie Pickler, read this.

Have a great day, everyone!

Sarah

Highlights of my Summer So Far....

I've been having a pretty awesome summer. About two weeks ago my aunt, who lives near to us, took me with her to Seattle! I stayed with my grandma for most of the week, and my Uncle drove me back a week later.

The Monday after I arrived, I got to surprise a very good friend of mine! We hadn't seen each other since before I moved, which was July 2nd, 2012. So I stayed with her for a few days, and got to see many other close friends.

While I was in Seattle, I also got to do a lot of fun stuff with my family: I went to one of my cousins graduation party, where I got to see a lot of my extended family. The next day my Grandma and Uncle took me and two of my cousins to this place called Bullwinkle's Family Fun Center, where we had a blast going on the fun rides they had.

I was also able to go see my cousin's dress rehearsal for dance, which was fun!

I also had a great time hanging out with my Grandma. We cut up a huge amount of strawberries and raspberries to freeze for canning later, and we baked, etc. It was so much fun and I hope that I can come back soon!

I've also had the pleasure of participating as a crew leader at the VBS at one parish that we attend,  and also helping out at Camp Tek (for St. Kateri Tekakwitha. Look her up!) at the other parish we go to. Honestly, I like the latter camp better for several reasons. A few of them are : 1. Part of the camp is attending daily Mass in the mornings. 2. They have a talent show!
The talent show was really fun! A small group of friends and I sang Edelweiss from the Sound of Music, which happened to be the theme of the camp this year. Singing with them really made me miss choir. Our choir is on hiatus right now, though our director did mention that we might resume in July or August.... We'll just have to see what happens!

I really love singing in choir. We have the best director. We are so lucky to have her! The songs that we sing are beautiful: Ave Maria (We sing this in a way that I have never heard before. It is amazing!), Laudate Pueri, Ave Verum, etc. I sing first soprano, which is the highest girl voice type, and I must say, the first soprano part is gorgeous!

Ok, those are the major highlights of my summer. I hope all of you are having a good summer as well!!

Martina McBride!

Ok, I know, I know. I've been horrible at blogging lately.... Sorry! I'm trying to get back into it!

Anyhoo.

Guess what?

My wonderful Grandma got tickets for my mom and me to go see one of our favorite singers:

Martina McBride!!

I am so excited!!! This is going to be my first time attending a concert.

If you haven't heard any of her music, you should! In fact, I'm going to include a song or two of hers  on this post. So you don't get a choice! ;)

Here's one of my absolute favorites: This Ones for the Girls.

Here's another favorite of mine: Anyway

Here's a fun fact about this song: It's based on a poem by Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta.

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God;
It was never between you and them anyway.
~Mother Teresa

So, there you go.

Hope y'all are having a great summer so far! I'll tell you a bit about mine in a later post, but so far it has been pretty good!
